She will have 1 or 2 wakeups- usually bc of the mother f'ing street traffic-, but she whiney/sleepy cries for a minute or 2 and then goes back to sleep. I still dread every single night though. I agree with @MamaChin that they start to become more and more aware during the early morning wake ups the older they get and its harder for them to fall back asleep. The older he gets the more aware he is during his early morning feeding but we haven't had any problems with him going back to sleep. She's learning HOW to sleep right now so she'll get it, I wouldn't worry about this early morning feed to sleep. It kind of sucks even more when you have to let them CIO for a wakeup bc it's a surprise you weren't expecting. At least at bedtime you're prepared for battle. Sleep training has taken at least 5 years off my life!!!</p> <p>H woke up and cried for like, literally 2 seconds, a couple of times. It was like she was dreaming, I guess? It was weird. She let a scream rip that woke me up and made my heart beat fast bc I was like, "Oh shit. Here we go. How long will she have to cry for before she goes back to sleep?!?" And then there was silence after the one cry/scream.</p> <p>So she STTN from 7:30 - 5a. She even slept through the wave of street sweepers (!!!!) that came by 4x between 4-430am. </p> <p>For whatever reason, I've only heard one delivery truck. So dare I say this...It is relatively quiet this morning and I am drinking my coffee with a sleeping baby in her crib and it's nice to remember what peace and quiet is like.</p> <p>Can anyone answer this question?</p> <p>So H wakes up each day at 4 or 5am to feed. Let's just say that on a morning like today where it's quiet and I can put her back in the crib after the feed, is it detrimental to sleep training for me to nurse her to sleep? I am still nursing to sleep for naps, as Running Elley explained that nap training at the same time is generally not done (and I couldnt have handled that too!), but the 4/5am wakeup is still part of her night sleep, right? So I still need to do drowsy but awake? It's really hard to get her drowsy but awake bc she eats like a horse but is still super sleepy and just passes out cold. I couldnt really get her to wake up bc she was sleeping so hard. So I just put her in the crib passed out. She basically opened one eye here and there but she was not at all awake.
