I either put her down for an early nap or take her outside for a walk!

@T-Mom: Mmm... we had no good treats for me to indulge in but it sounds like something I should keep on hand now :)

@BabyBoecksMom: I had a hard time letting him just have his tantrum because he reverted back to head banging. Ugh, I thought we were past the self injury a little but it seems to come back on rough days. I did put him in his crib for a little to "chill" with some music and stuffed animals and that helped him relax

@Navy_Mommy: We ended up with change of scenery to target :)

@autumnlove: We tried the outdoors, but even that was causing problems.

Thanks for all of your ideas! I will stow them away for our next bad day :)

I usually took her outside to walk it off in our backyard.

We have toys that don't come out very often just because they take up so much space (like the cozy coupe) and I tell him when he calms down he can play with his car. He usually calms down pretty quick after hearing that!

And if that doesn't work I find a change of scenery helps so we usually go to the park.

This was us yesterday. I just go do something I need to do and let her cry it out. When she's having one of those days, no amount of trying to talk to her will do and she just needs a good cry. I do continue (once *I've* calmed down) to talk to her and see if she wants to cuddle or do "x", but I tell her she needs to calm down first. And if she doesn't, I start drinking some wine ;-)

I think last time I had a day like this, I marched straight to the freezer and scooped myself some salted caramel gelato while I ignored my DS's tantrum! Hang in there!

My child is driving me nuts today... Everything is causing a meltdown, full out on the floor kicking and screaming. I don't even know what to do with him! I just don't think I can make it to nap time!

What do you do when your toddler is super cranky and doesn't want to do anything?
