Could he be sick? If not, the crawling definitely changes things! E is 7 months on the 8th and doesn't crawl yet but pushes her behind in the air + scoots...we've had serious sleep problems lately. She wakes up at 11pm, 1am, 4am and up by 7:30...I've let her sleep with me. I'm pooped!

My LO is 7 months old and sleep was miserable early in the week. However, we have tried CIO and I get the best night of sleep last night. He went down at 8 p.m. and we only had 1 night wake up at 1:30 a.m. After the night wake up he went right back to sleep and slept till it was time to get him up. My guess is its a combination of working on milestones and growth spurt. I'm hoping it passes as quickly as it came.

@Mrs.M57: We aren't nursing anymore but when J wakes up I def. noticed that he's more restless! I think maybe he's just so excited that he CAN crawl up me that he is??

@Mrs. Bee: We're going to test out a dream feed tonight, DH has NO idea what that means, he was so confused and still thinks that it sounds "weird" (men!) but that's what our (my) plan for tonight is. Fingers crossed!!!

@Thehistoryofus: Okay! I rarely need to change them, I guess I was just worried because I thought his wet diapers would wake him...? I know if I had wet pants I wouldn't be happy ;)

I hope tonight is better! I appreciate the support and advice that you all have provided me, I am so crazy appreciative of HB!!

I totally stopped changing diapers in the middle of the night. If she eats thats fine but she goes right back to sleep. If you have to do a feeding maybe try to at least skip the diaper change.

@babyjmama: you could do a dream feed by waking up your lo before they wake up. so if he usually wakes up at 10, wake him up at 9:30 and feed him. that might help him get through the middle of the night wake ups better because he'll have a full belly, and he's waking up on your terms and not his!

We are also a part of this club for going on 2 weeks! My dd just turned 8 mos had been working on it, but started really crawling about a week ago and is now really working on cruising. It's rough! I've noticed when she wakes up at night she is super restless, tries to climb me and get into crawling position while nursing! I feel like we are nursing like 17 times a night Gah! I'm definitely chalking it up to developmental milestones! I think their little brains just can't turn off!

@BabyBoecksMom: thanks for your input! I think I'll tell DH that feeding him at night once or twice for a week or two to save our sanity is worth it at this point. *sigh...

@babyjmama: Poor thing - that's no fun at all. We went through the same thing last (10.5 months) when she started walking, and also around 6.5 months when she started crawling. She was super hungry at night, screaming to be fed. I chalked it up to her burning more calories because she's moving and therefore was more hungry at night. She also wanted to be held all the time and didn't want to sleep in her crib. I actually didn't mind much because she never wants us to hold her so it felt good to actually get to.

Good luck to you and getting back to sleep!

Sounds like my LO! Since she turned 6 mo, we've been zombies and DH returned to work today! But with her, we think it's reflux combined with teething combined with baby eczema! I'm desperate right now and literally sitting outside in the cold with my stomach growling since she happens to like napping in her baby cacoon thing while in the stroller.

@mediagirl: I agree...maybe we can just do a feeding at 10 or 11 when he wakes up. The only problem there is then he'll have a wet diaper haha...if it's not one thing it's another! ;-)

Today might be worse than my pregnancy attitude. I feel like I need to wear a warning sign.

@babyjmama: I know what you mean about the feedings. When she started begging / demanding to be fed at bedtime, we realized it was becoming a pattern. I am trying not to worry about it just yet because really, what's the harm in giving them a little milk at bedtime? I figure if it continues, we can always transition that to water when she gets older. I don't think it's going to continue forever though. I swear this is a phase...it has to be....right? :)

lol - try not to flip out on anyone. :) Good luck with your first day back after vacation, that has to be difficult especially after a rough few nights.

@mediagirl: I feel so naive for not realizing this was 'normal'! I'm sorry you're having to go brought this as well. J will be 7mo on the 8th so they're right there!! We put him to bed at 8pm last night, his normal time. No issues with falling asleep. Wakes up around 10 and that's when it starts. NYE was MISERABLE. I got 32 1/2 hours of sleep because he wouldn't let me sit down. He's fine and dandy asleep if I'm walking around with him, but dang! Mama needs rest! I've been off work on vacation for almost 2 weeks so I could nap but I'm back to work today and I'm afraid I might flip out on someone if they ask me how I'm doing...

@babyjmama: mama, you sound just like where I am right now. My daughter turns 7 months on the 11th. She has started trying to pull up on me and is trying so hard to crawl (and mostly gets frustrated and just starts sad crying for us). The past couple nights have been miserable. New Years Eve, we were up from 8-11 and she would only sleep if she was on me. So, I spent 3 hours on the lazboy. She just didn't want to go back down and was demanding to be fed when we put her down for bedtime. By demanding to be fed I mean would not stop crying unless I fed her. Last night I made my husband put her to bed (he did so early b/c she skipped a nap) and she was up at 7 demanding to be fed again. It's so hard!!

People have suggested to me it's milestones, as well. How long does he cry and what time is he finally falling asleep? Does the milk seem to help him?

Hard to say what it could be. Maybe working on a new milestone like sitting up or crawling. That usually affects sleep. Does he have a lovey?

J will not stop screaming at night. The past few nights he's woken up freako Rico crying. Inconsolable. We thought it was his teething so I gave him some tylenol tonight but he still woke up. I told DH to give him a bottle (totally against the rules-but I go back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off and am desperate)...he's crying right now but not as bad. He's getting plenty of food during the day though, I can't imagine that he's hungry.

Anyone have suggestions? Or similar stories? He's totally happy and fine once the light of day hits. I don't know what to do but I'm quickly losing sanity and patience....:-(
