So now, we can all say, "yay, he didn't sign the 6 week ban, so the 20 week ban isn't as bad." HELLS NO. This law doesn't take into account the life of the mother or a poor fetal diagnosis which can't always be confirmed until after 20 weeks...and which are mostly wanted pregnancies. I'm refusing to see this has a win or a nice "moderate" move from Mr. Kasich.<br /> One more rant: Aren't Republicans for SMALL government? Trump may pick a guy to head the FDA that wants people to determine whether drugs are safe, not the FDA. You want to give power back to the people?? I didn't even find out I was pregnant until about 6 weeks with my first. That baby was very much wanted, but what if that hadn't been the case? And I'm afraid it's only going to get worse. Abortion has been decided. Roe v. Wade took care of that. Can we PLEASE focus on other issues? If you want fewer abortions to happen, laws like this will absolutely not accomplish that. Instead women will (once again) go to back-alley butchers claiming to be doctors in order to obtain abortions. All this does is put women's health at risk. But hey, if you want people to give birth so bad, how about subsidized daycare? Expanding medicaid? Universal health care? Increased funding of SNAP benefits? Improved parental leave?
