I think this was the best season yet. So many unanswered questions. Poor Crazy Eyes is really just mentally unstable as a character! </p> <p>There was so much play on emotions--the flashbacks with Baxter the guard or whatever his name is, to build up his character that he is a good guy--especially when Caputo gave him the speech to get out of the job because it ruins you. And of course the back story on Washington too, where she was a wrong-place, wrong-time, ended-up-in-prison and now she's dead.</p> <p>Plus, I cannot wait to see where next season goes with Daya at the end. Her mom was so afraid she would ruin her life! Will she shoot the guard? Let it go? I completely missed how Washington ended up in prison. I saw the episode, but I guess I missed what she actually did. It took me an entire day to watch that episode bc my 8 week old was being a beast that day. It was heartbreaking that it was the "nice guard" but it seems to me they did that on purpose to show exactly what Caputo told him just hours before. He told him the system was going to ruin him and he was right. It's not that he's not responsible but it is so much bigger than him.</p> <p>The whole episode was so well done with how they showed that the guard and Washington had made similar choices (him trespassing by climbing the water tower, smoking pot, egging houses, her also smoking pot and trespassing), but because of their difference in privilege, he got away with it and it ended up costing Washington her life.</p> <p>@ms. pug: In the real world he probably would not be charged and if he were he would get off. Which is the whole point that the show was trying to make - drawing very close parallels to recent events and the Black Lives Matter movement.</p> <p>Oh, and Suzanne just breaks my heart so much because she is so innocent but she continues to be in situations where she unintentionally hurts others. The little boy (OMG), her friends when V was manipulating her, her love interest and then Washington. Because of her special needs / differences, she clearly is just a victim. If it was ANY other guard I would feel like he was the villan, but because it was that one, I can't help but have tremendous sympathy for him.
