Oh man I am right there with you on the 4 month regression. Holy hell. I had been putting her down awake before this happened but now I just nurse her to sleep so I can get some shut-eye. I read somewhere that during a regression to do whatever it takes to get babe to sleep! I'd be using the swing too if it helped!

I would always start my LO in the PnP, but I do remember a few stretches when I was desperate and would put her in the swing at 3am. It didn't cause any long term problems.

That's what I kind of thought, too. I just hope it doesn't ruin the crib after the regression is done! Anyone else done this??

My thought is to start each night in the crib, and only switch over to the swing if he's waking every hour, which is not sustainable for my sanity. :-P

I have always been of the mindset, whatever helps everyone sleep at night. literally!

I would totally use it as long as LO fits. I was wishing I could get it back out for my six month old the last few weeks because her sleep has been terrible!

I haven't done it, but I say it's not awful and you all need your sleep. Do whatever it takes. That way, neither of you are over tired and will sleep better overall, even when the regression is over.

My 3.5 month old is in the midst of the 4 month sleep regression. Previously, he had been capable of sleeping an initial 6-9 hours in the crib, but over the past week sleep has quickly deteriorated. At first, he started waking every 3-4 hours, then every 2 hours, then two nights ago he woke up EVERY. SINGLE HOUR. Shoot me.

Last night, he went down after a long fight at 8:30pm. He then woke up at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30... at which point we put him in the swing. He then slept until 3:30am, woke up to eat, then back down until 6:45am when he was up for the day. Hallelujah. Mama needed some sleep.

My question is: is it awful that I'm resorting to the swing for night sleep during this regression??? Anyone use the swing and then successfully got their baby back into the crib after the regression was over????
