Bumping this thread from a few months ago to see if anyone has any additional info to share on the Ok to Wake clocks (or similar--have also heard about the My Tot Clock)...

@LAGS: did this help your LO at all? My two year old is having similar sounding issues and am interested in whether this might help.

I have the okay to wake. At 19 months I thought my DD would be a little young for it, but I do actually think it helps because sometimes I hear her moving around in her crib before it goes off and she doesn't actually call out for me until it lights up (6 am)...

@LAGS: My daughter is almost three. We got it for her just a month ago... So, yeah, perhaps she might be young? However, does she know what the colours blue and yellow are? Does she recognise a picture of a sun? If so, she might still understand how the clock works.

@LAGS: LO is 2 1/2 and we introduced it at around 27/28 months I think. She probably could have done it earlier. She is a pretty compliant kid overall so I think that helps, but I feel like list kids are at this age.

@T.H.O.U.: Great idea! I might give that a go first.

@MamaBehr: @MamaCate: @Rubies: How old are your little ones? Mine recently turned 2 so I'm debating whether or not she'll really get it. I think she will, but the whole following through thing worries me. She kind of lives by her own terms these days :silly:

LOVE IT!!!! It doesn't make DD sleep more, but she stays in her room/bed until it turns green. This is especially great now that she has given up naps, she plays in her room until it turns green instead of coming to ask if she can come downstairs every 10 minutes.

We have the Onaroo teach me time clock and it has been a huge success! We got it about. 3 months ago and played up the big girl clock idea. LO was waking up regularly before 6 and fighting naps. She is now staying in her room until her clock turns green, which is now 6:30. Sometimes she is awake earlier but she waits for the light. We also use it for nap or quiet time for however long we decide and it works. I totally recommend them.

I did hear a way to DIY this using a night light plugged into a standard lamp timer. It may be a cheaper option to see if it will help before investing.

I just bought the groclock - it doesn't help my toddler sleep longer but it helps her to stay in her bed until it's "wakey time". She knows that she has to stay in her bed and use quiet voices until the sun on the clock shows.

My two year old is on some ridiculous sleep strike which includes ditching naps and going to bed super late/getting up super early. I'm considering trying out an Ok to Wake! alarm clock, like the Onaroo, to see if it will help her just hang out in her room until a more reasonable time of day.

Anyone have any success with these? Are they useless? I'd love to hear your feedback.
