I had horrible pain for the first 6 weeks with DS and he had a shallow latch. I also had an overactive letdown that was causing him to latch HARD (while shallow) and that damaged my nipples badly. With DD the pain was gone by 2 weeks. So I'd lean toward something needing correction. Maybe if this LC doesn't return your call soon call your ped to recommend a different one? Nipple pain is so miserable! Or even a breastfeeding support group- do you have any near you? I called an LC in my area and she told me about all the support groups around my area. </p> <p>I remember that horrible pain, I'm so sorry! My LO had a tongue tie and lip tie that wasn't detected until over 8 weeks, and it caused a horrific pain every time she latched for a good 4 weeks. Of course fine once he is on after a minute or so.</p> <p>Helppppp. </p>
