It could be something or nothing but since you mentioned the eczema I might reconsider eliminating dairy just because that is a really common cause of it.

R spit up all the time until about 10 months. I think around 11 she stopped being in a bib all day.

@HLK208: Following! C is 6 months and still spits a lot...also on the low end of the growth curve. She has eczema which makes me more suspicious of food allergies, but she's never had mucous-y or weird color stool, and she's definitely a happy spitter. My older DD has eczema also and I have repeatedly been told by several doctors not to eliminate anything from her diet, so I really don't know!

@HLK208: he had bloody green poop so it was clear something was up. But he was always just a happy spitter. And when I say there was a lot of spit up, I mean there was so so so much. Even hours after eating. It had tapered by 9 months but not stopped. Now he spits maybe once a day? More if he has a cold. His doc says he's just being a baby. So you might just have a happy spitter.

@babynumber1: good to know! I'm hoping that's the case for DD. Her ped doesn't think its an allergy and at her 6 month check up, he said she should be outgrowing reflux the next time he sees her (9 months)

Our LO spit up still until after she turned 1. She spit up EVERYTHING, milk, food etc. She finally just grew out of it. The Dr said that it wasn't reflux, just spit up. It quit overnight.

@gilmoregirl: oh really? I've cut foods before for weeks and it disn't seem to help her. And then I was on antibiotics for a long time and that made her spit up way more so I could never tell what exactly it was. How did you find out your LO had MSPI?

@HLK208: my guy still has the occasional spit up and he is almost one. Sometimes it's triggereed by something like a cold, but usually it's just the occasional spit up. He used to do it almost constantly. It didn't improve until around 10 months. He did have mspi for a bit but cutting foods from my diet never affected his spit up.

@HLK208: if she is a happy spitter, it may just be normal for her. I have two friends with big spitters (but happy spitters), and they didn't stop until well after a year.

@HLK208: Prevacid. I'm pretty confident ours is still just reflux. She is also mspi so she already doesn't eaten dairy or soy. She does eat egg and wheat but not every day and there is no association between what she eats and when she spits up.

Could it be something you're eating? My LO used to spit up a ton whenever I'd eat wheat. He is just now at 10.5 months outgrowing it. He also has/had issues with dairy and soy that probably contributed to the spitting up, but they caused other issues too so I totally eliminated them.

My lo has been on reflux meds since 10 weeks. She is 10 mo now. She still spits up regularly (some days a few days, some days not at all). We tried weaning her off meds at 8.5 mo but there was much puke.

N is 8 months and I figured she would outgrow the spit up stage by now but she still spits up after she eats. Moreso after nursing but still a little after solids. She's also super light and in a low weight percentile. We tried Zantac awhile ago but it didn't seem to help.

Does anyone have experience with this?
