I have no tips, just empathy lol. Our dog has recently started wetting our bed once every couple of weeks in her sleep. I read that it often becomes an issue for spayed females as they get older, blah!!!

My dog did this at one point - same thing, we tested her for a bladder infection, crystals etc., even did some treatment but in the end it didn't help. She had just sort of untrained herself. I hear this was not uncommon especially in small breeds. Eventually she got back on track.

It may be a dominance thing. With LO now wondering around, your dog may be trying solidify her place in your household.

any suggestions on how to remedy this?

She does not have any issues holding her pee when we're at work from like 9:30a - 5:00p. It's only when we're home that she's ever peed in the house and usually like 20 minutes after we just took her out!

We had her urine tested and it came back negative so likely it's behavioral. The only thing her vet & I can think of to blame is the fact that LO started walking around the same time these accidents started. So she's probably terrorized, ahem, bothered, with more and possibly stressed out from it?

Vet is suggesting we limit the portions of the house she has access to, bell by door, Vitamin C to help with high alkaline levels in her urine resulting in some minor crystal forming which might possibly be irritating her? We're also going to hire a pro carpet cleaner to come in.

Anyone else have/had a older dog that pees/d in the house. How did you stop it?
