I never took him to any doctors appointment by myself, including prenatal appointments. My OB actually asked why I DIDNT bring him to my appointments. I had someone watch her for my lengthy ultrasounds but I had a few that I did have to take her to, and she did great! I strap her in the stroller and have a good video on my phone for her and lots of snacks. It hasn't ever been a problem. Unless I can get an appointment on one of the two mornings a week she's in preschool, she comes with me. She actually LOVES my obgyn and calls him her friend. He has four kids himself and is great with her. They just hung out during my appointments. DS#1 would stay in the stroller and DD would just sit there. I load up the iPad with Bubble Guppies and give her Goldfish crackers when we enter the room. Seems to work so far! Most people are understanding, but ultrasound techs can be a bit sniffy about it, I have found. It's definitely getting a little harder as she gets older but I can usually make do between snacks and Daniel Tiger on the iPod. </p> <p>I SAH so no child care, and no family in the area who could watch her. </p>
