My DH’s side there are two who are 17 &amp; 19. I had two sets that gave me Christmas gifts. Once I got older (high school age) the gifts slowly got smaller and became handmade. When I was on college my mom or I talked to the parties involved and asked if it was ok that we stop exchanging gifts (I also gave them a small Christmas gift and was running out of ideas every year). So that’s one approach … but since I only have 1 niece and 1 nephew, maybe we’ll try to keep up gift cards when they’re older. At this point he just wants Amazon gift cards so we will usually send him a birthday card with one inside. I do the same for his older brother who is now 18. Not sure when we will stop honestly. BUT my mom's side of the family has a large Christmas party every year and basically everyone exchanges presents. I think I stopped getting birthday gifts in high school. DH and I also get Christmas gifts from his aunt.</p> <p>Similarly, I will probably get my niece Christmas gifts forever, but will stop birthday after high school. If you have older nieces and nephews, is there an age when you stopped buying them birthday and/or holiday gifts? I know my I stopped getting gifts from my aunts/uncles when I was about 13 but then again, I was one of like 17 grandchildren. This thought just popped into my head as my oldest niece is about to turn 19. I have no thoughts either way. Just wanted to crowd source. :) </p>
