As a Black woman, it's hard to find characterizations o on TV portraying powerful, intelligent, classy, successful Black women who are the central characters of a show and not someone's sidekick. I appreciate the existence of the Olivia Pope character. The show isn't perfect, but I'm glad to see the image is out there.
