They force people from their homes kicking and screaming to build these gargantuan facilities. With zero plans for how they're used post Olympics. As an architect this brothers me on many levels.<br /> There's stories of illegal workers brought in to build these structures and how unsafe working conditions are. The death tolls are high, when architects speak out, they're fired. The IOC is clearly not doing their job. Some of that came to light during Beijing and it seems to be getting worse. These horrible lodging facilities? My kids won't watch the opening ceremonies because of dinner and bedtime, but they'll watch some of the events.
