we have this problem! my daughter is trained everywhere but preschool! :-/ shes been potty trained for 3 months, pees and poops in the potty, hardly any accidents, has no problem going in public with us, but for some reason she can't do it at preschool. its either that she gets too distracted to remember to go, or she knows since shes wearing a pullup she can go whenever? i don't really know. i'm just going with the flow now. the teacher is helping with reward charts for dry diapers, and shes doing well with that. shes been getting at least a couple stickers a day! so hopefully with time it'll just click! i'd just keep doing what you're doing. maybe peer pressure will win ;-)

I think it's a good problem. He has total control... We have the opposite which is really difficult. I do think one day he'll just go, and maybe when you switch to undies all the time. My sister soared until after 3 to stop sleep diapers and my nephew finally started popping in the potty...

I would keep doing what you're doing! My oldest did something similar, he went to a drop off program and refused to let the teachers take him to the bathroom. He also wanted to wear underwear and would hold it for 3-4 hours! He also went through a phase of holding poop until he had his nap time diaper on. Both habits he eventually grew out of!

Maybe he has an issue with the toilet at daycare? My son took awhile (two weeks?) before he could poo on the toilet there, but he would pee just fine. I would just give it time since it seems like he understands what he's supposed to be doing. My son was the same age when we potty trained and we also did the 3 day method.

We did the three day method with one of our 2.5 year old twins about three weeks ago. At home, he's perfect--no accidents, no issues with pooping on the potty, lets us know when he needs to go. He still gets a diaper for naps and nighttime. He has used the potty at grandparents' houses, no problem. Refuses to go at daycare, where he spends 2 and a half days a week. But he doesn't have accidents...he just waits until they put him in a diaper for naptime to pee. I'm thinking this is not healthy...but in the morning he insists on being put in undies, no diaper. Daycare seems fine with it, they take him to the potty but he refuses to go. Anyone else go through something similar? People keep telling me "he'll do it when he's ready" as if I potty trained too early...but he IS ready. Everywhere except at daycare. Should I just keep doing what we're doing?
