I totally would keep feeding for an 11 week old. I'm still doing it for my 6 month old, and probably will stop around 9 months.

i still fed her overnight if she woke up until over a year, but that was my choice. she had slept 8-9 hours every now and again starting from a young age, but never consistent. 11 weeks is still young, so i would still feed overnight.

I did up until 6 months or so when I felt like the wake up was out of the ordinary. He started sleeping through the night pretty early, but if he had a random wake up I would still feed - once it became unusual for him to wake up, I started trying to wean him off of it.

I still nurse my 18 month old if he wakes! I feel like who am I to judge whether he "shouldn't" be hungry? I sometimes wake up hungry for no real reason!

No. I don't feel comfortable making the judgement call if my 9.5 month old is hungry or not since she can't speak. I prefer to follow her lead and assume she doesn't overeat so if she accepts the boob at night she is hungry. It sounds like your situation is a little different tgough. Do what you feel is best!

I personally would feed my lo when he woke, but he doesn't wake often. Amounts vary from day to day so I'd worry that he needed more on the days that he woke.

(This is for an LO that didn't eaten a ton...a lot of it depends on the size of baby and how much they eat during the day.)

In the beginning, if they woke up I still fed. I assumed they were hungry because of a growth spurt. Once they were really eating solids - probably around 9 months or so - I didn't automatically feed. But if they wouldn't go back down, I would give a bottle.

Once my LO consistently proved he could sleep X number of hours without eating, I stopped feeding him prior to that time. If he woke up early, my husband would go in and rock him instead. I think it really helped bc he usually pretty quickly stopped the early wake up again if he knew he was only gonna get my husband. That said, I'm not sure we started that until a little later... Maybe closer to 4-5 months?

Ever since DS slept through, I have never fed him during the night and would never do so now - but he was over 7 months at that point. I would offer water though. I think at 11 weeks I would still feed at night if the baby wanted it - they could be going through a growth spurt etc.

I try not to with M. But sometimes nursing is all that will work to get him back to sleep. We've been working on not rushing to him as soon as he cries, so he's actually getting himself back to sleep in the MOTN for the most part.

He's 8 months.

Dd STTN from a very young age. But if she ever woke up (happened a couple times a month) I would still give her a full bottle. It didn't happen often so I figured she was waking for a reason.

Now that she's a toddler, if she ever wakes up I just rub her back or rock her and then put her back down.

My son went back and forth on night feeding until about 6 and a half months when it started happening more consistently. I still feed him now if he wakes up, at 9 months (happens maybe once every 2/3 weeks?). He had a serious growth spurt around 3 months where he started waking multiple times a night and would feed hungrily every time, and then went through the 4 month sleep regression and would only go back to sleep if he fed.
I guess for me, even though he slept through for the first time about 12 weeks, I still fed him at night for months afterwords, because I felt that he woke when he needed it. He's also in a very low percentile for weight, so I never wanted to deny him feeds.

My 11 week old went to bed at 8pm, woke at 4.39am drank 1oz and back to sleep until 7am.
Now I know he can do this, if he were to wake at 1am tonight do I not feed him as I know he can go longer? I know he is still so little but I don't know when is the right time to cut out night feeds.
A little extra info, he suffered severe reflux and is absaloutely not allowed to snack feed as it makes him worse, so he is not a baby who can be fed on demand, he has to at least go 3 hours between feeds due to the medication he takes in a feed.
