We only have two kinds of straw cup and use zoli for water and the other for milk. My DD doesn't seem to have a preference and is at the point where she would rather have an open cup, so I give her one as often as possible.

DS drank out of any straw cups, when we introduced almond milk we never offered it in a bottle.

As they got more practice any straw cup will do. Yay!

lol so as you know, fia is weird. But to add to the responses... :) She doesn't understand sippy cups but she does fine with any straw. Zoli cups are definitely her favorite, I think because you can drink from them at any angle. But she can and will drink from any straw cup or straw (I give her sips of my water out of just normal straws in my glass all the time, esp at restaurants). But she'll only drink water out of a zoli cup. And only drink juice out of a nuby cup. Cause she's weird. (And only drink milk in my dreams haha)

Neither DD nor DS care. If it has a straw it is a go thankfully.

She drank water out of a variety but there was one type she preferred for milk (Nuk soft spout sippy). We just had to wean her from that cup and now she likes take n toss sippy cups for milk.

Mine drinks better if I switch it up. We have her regular one (a contigo straw bottle that doesn't leak) but when I use a different one the novelty is enough to make her drink more. And even though we skipped sippy cups altogether, now she likes to drink her milk out of a take and toss sippy. Whatever.

@hilsy85: C@ladybee: @mauxie: It sounds like a lot of LOs will go with a variety of cups. I hope it works out that way with my LOs. Thanks ladies!

I think my LOs do prefer the Zoli cup bc of the soft straw and it's fun to slide it open/shut, but I make a point of it to use a variety of cups. In fact, I prefer just an open cup cuz it's easiest to wash. They go with it!

DS greatly preferred take n toss. Now that he can do straws at 21 months, he'll do any straw.

Any kind of straw works fine! He is not picky (except when he's being an insane toddler and must have the yellow cup, but that has nothing to do with the straw part).

..did they drink from a variety of cups, or was there a specific kind that they preferred over all others so you just went with that type? I have a huge variety of cups for my LOs - soft spouts, hard spouts, Zoli straw, playtex straw, take n toss, etc. I'm trying to get them switched over from bottles to cups for their wcm. They seem to drink better from some than others, but it changes day by day! At some point did your LO develop strong preference for one particular cup? Did you get several of that one kind? Or did they do ok switching varieties of cups day by day?
