@Kemma: he will sometimes fall asleep in the car or on walks, but when he doesn't it ends up being a walk or ride filled with lots of tears :( I'm going to just keep trying to get him down and cross my fingers that his sleep will organize like you said! Thanks for your input :)

@MamaMagpie: hmmm at that age he probably should be taking more naps! Will he sleep in the car or stroller in the afternoons? Twelve weeks if often when babies start to organise their sleep into "formal" naps, maybe give it a few days and see how LO copes on the one nap?

@kemma: he's 12 weeks...I don't mind the one nap, but I do kind of wish he'd have three shorter ones throughout the day. I guess I shouldn't be complaining about it, though! And I'm also worried about that long of a stretch being awake...should I just not worry about that bit?

How old is your LO? I think that as long as total sleep is good and the nap schedule works for your family then you're good!

So I'm obsessed with sleep...

DS has started napping again after a brief hiatus -- hallelujah! But, he consistently only takes a morning nap and it's reeeeaaallly long: almost three hours!

His nighttime sleep is pretty good, although late (10:00-9:30 with two brief wakings to nurse) so I'm finally ok with the amount he's getting total, but should I be concerned that he's awake for such a long stretch during the day? He does take catnaps throughout the day, but refuses to go down even when I read his sleep cues really well.

Hmmmm...advice? Anyone else have this?
