Yesterday was my first day tracking and went 11,493 steps. Back at my desk job today, so I'm going to try to remember to walk up and down the three flights of stairs a few times today.

I ended up buying a FitBit Zip from Target (and price matched to Amazon). I read a tip online that if I put it in a water balloon and tie the end, it will essentially be waterproof so I can use it in the pool.

@TemperanceBrennan: I'm up for it!
I have my fit bit but have REALLY been slacking lately! Barely 2000 steps a day most days. And as a result I feel blah too :meh:

@Mamaof2: You can download one for free on your phone! I have one, the only problem is I don't always carry it with me. But if you always keep it in your pocket, it could work.

I'm sure there are some cheaper/good ones out there. I'll share what I find. I'm researching them now on Amazon so I can get on on Monday.

Anyone up for a challenge?

A good rule of thumb to stay active and fit is to take 10,000 steps a day. There are 99 days of "summer" this year (Memorial Day to Labor Day), so the idea is simple: Try to take 10,101 steps a day and get to 1,000,000 steps by Labor Day.

I work at a desk job and really want to up my fitness so I'm going to try this challenge. Anyone want to do it with me? I figured we could use this thread to keep track and encourage each other. What do you think?
