We are still on purees at 6.5 months, but we only wait about a day in between. Once she is better at feeding herself bites we will probably just go for it, being wary of salt/sugar. But there aren't any allergies in our family history.

Around 10/11 months maybe a bit younger we didn't wait 3 days -- we were very slow on solids though.... Took him a long time to figure it out, so maybe we are later than others!

@Mrs. Polish: I feel like I covered most of the common foods with purées first- but I think he was 7 or 8 months when we went for crab legs and started feeding him some when he was screaming at the table for it! L is almost 10 months and he eats mostly table food now with some pouch purées for convenience.

ETA: if we fed him something new from the table I just didn't feed him something new for 1 day instead of 2. I stopped when I couldn't remember anything he *hadn't* had yet. Which, at this stage, all I think he hasn't tried yet is parsnips and plain pumpkin? Maybe sesame? My husband fed him peanuts one day when I was at work!

We started with purees and now we're moving into small bites. When did you stop doing one new food for three days? I want to start just feeding him what we eat but do I make the transition slowly or just do it?
