Mine is in 2 piece with no socks and a sleep sack every night. No pants and sleep sack if warm. 18 months old. I think we stopped with one piece around 15 months. She was getting hard to out in due to wriggling.

We've found 2 piece PJ's work best, so much easier to get on! We do socks and a sleep sack if it's chilly. No socks with a lightweight sleep sack if it's warm with just her PJ top.

I liked the one pieces with the combined feet because I liked the fact that my son was covered in the back.

@meadow: How old are your kids? DS (17 months) has both. I never put socks on him to sleep - he runs really hot. No sleep sack either (I have actually never used one ... don't really know why haha). He inevitably sleeps on top of his blankets, but never feels cold to me overnight so I think he's all good!

For DS2 I prefer 1 piece footless pjs. He is so chunky, that 2 piece pjs ride up and expose his belly and back. Footed pjs are just too darn hard to put on him while he wriggles around.

For DS1, who was more normal in size, I preferred 2 piece Jammie's. He hated footed pjs once he could walk.

A has been in 2 piece pjs exclusively since about 9 months. She's a big girl and I had a hard time finding 1 piece pjs that fit her well. In the winter I put socks on her, and with the sleep sack, she kept them on. Now that it's warmer, I don't put socks on, but she still has the sleep sack, so I'm not worried about her feet.

We also do one piece in the winter and 2 piece with no so is in the spring/summer/fall. I don't think my son would
Keep the socks on...he's not really a fan of wearing socks, and our led said his feet should air out at night because he can get really sweaty in his socks.

We have freezing winters, so I will keep in fleece footed PJs for as long as he fits. Basically once it gets into the 40's at night I think it's too hot for fleece PJs so we switch to cotton 2 pieces (long sleeve/pants for most of spring/fall and short sleeve and shorts for summer).

@Foodnerd81: they only use blankets to nap at daycare....and I would say the house at night is close to daytime temps....right now 70ish ...we haven't started up the AC.....during the winter...about 68ish......as we move into summer...probably about 75?

As we get closer to summer I wasn't sure if my cotton feetie PJS would be too warm but afraid footrest too cold....hah..... I guess I should just try and see what happens before I stock up in the next size!

Thanks!!!

My kids both refused footed pjs and sleep sacks at ridiculously young ages. They just like to have those little feet free! We keep our house quite cold at night and they wake up with freezing feet but neither seems to be bothered by it. I sleep with my feet out too though. I hate having hot feet.

2 piece for the win! Easier to change diapers and they don't outgrow them as fast. My son wears socks and had a sleep sack until he outgrew it. Now at 2 he has a blanket but rarely stays under it.

She wears both but I prefer two piece now. She's 2. We put socks on her if she's wearing separates and she usually leaves them on even though she will take off her socks during the day. She doesn't use a sleepsack and sleeps with a light blanket.

My 19 month old is only in two pieces with no socks. She can get out of any one piece pjs. She hasn't been in a sleepsack for months and doesn't sleep under covers. She runs hot and our house is at 73 at night. She's never too cold.

My 22 month old wears both, but for the last few months I have mostly preferred two piece. They're easier to get on her and she can put the pants on herself, which she loves. I won't buy anymore one pieces when she grows out of the current ones.

She sleeps in a sleep sack, so no advice on the socks!

@meadow: do they sleep with blankets? And how cool is your house at night?

My 17 month old wears both. I don't really think one is more convenient than the other, but she wears a sleep sack at night so I don't worry about her feet being cold. The only negative is when the footed sleepers get old they get less grippy on the feet and she slips (hand me downs from big sis).

I thought this was going to be about bathing suits from the title!

When does it become more convenient to put kids in 2 piece jammies? Also my kids refuse to keep socks on during the day....... will their feet be cold at night? I currently don't have them in a sleep sack.......can they just go into bed in 2 piece PJs and open feet?

(Feeling like such a n00b right now! Haha)
