@StbHisMrs: This isn't at the injection site it's lower, like right above where my pelvic bone starts and on the side where the epidural wasn't working. But maybe it is some kind of memory phantom pain because it is where all the contraction pain really centered or maybe it was something that happened during labor. It's just the pain wasn't focused there until I got the epidural. It doesn't hurt that much so hopefully it goes away soon.

@StbHisMrs: oh wow, your experience sounds crazy. I literally don't remember feeling anything when I got my epidural-- so either it was painless for me or I've forgotten. Honestly I think my contractions were so bad at that point someone could have sawed off my arm and it wouldn't have distracted me from the contractions pain.

Yes, I had a dull ache and numbness where the epi went in for about 3 weeks after the fact. They had to place it three times and I wasn't numb enough while he was starting it so I attributed it to just being sore from that.

If I think about it I can still feel the pain from having the needle placed prior to being numb. I'd like to meet the person who first said you don't remember pain! ;)

The epidural I got worked mainly on my left side and I asked them to turn it down since my left side was really starting to feel weird and immobile (they had given me a higher dose to try and get some to pass to the right side). Once they turned it down I felt pain in my lower right back and the pain would concentrate there during contractions.

After they removed the epidural I still felt pain there for awhile but they said it should go away soon and it did. But now 5 days later it started hurting again, nothing very bad but just a dull ache where the pain concentrated during labor.

Anyone else experience this with an epidural? Any fixes or info on how long it takes to go away, the dr just seemed to give a 'meh' answer when I asked.
