@raintreebee: one tip from moms on call that might be helpful for you tho no matter what method you use, is to make sure your LO is eating more during the day so they are more full at night. so i gradually tried to makeup what LO would eat during night feedings during the day. especially right before bed, tank him up!! :-) it might get you a longer stretch!

@kodybear: Thanks! This is very helpful. LO is 3.5 months old. Should have started this earlier! I definitely had it in my mind to try to do this, but it was always easier to feed him. Now I regret it!

@looch: Doesn't sound like I need a course for that! I kind of just want something that provides an overview of various methods. I am reading Weissbluth now. It is smart but dense!

I think moms on call at that age is extinction? I can't remember which module I purchased, but it was basically put them in the room, tell them you'll see them at 7 am the next morning and close the door behind you. Do not go in until 7 am the next morning.

Ferber is CIO it with timed checks, which we also tried.

We had a bad stretch between 6 and 11 months of age. I read Weissbluth at that time and found it to be the method that worked, at 11 months, when we finally got sleep training correct.

so i wrote up a different answer before i realized your LO is here already. how old is he? i've had great success with the moms on call method. i read the books and did the online seminars. BUT i do think it works better if you start from when the baby is born. because around the 3 month age, the moms on call method becomes more of a CIO method (similar to ferber i think). where as when they're younger, its more training them to learn how to sttn by soothing rather than feeding right away. the basic concept for moms on call is just to soothe the baby up to 3 times before you feed them in the middle of the night. when they're very young, you wait about 2-3 min of crying before soothing, and as they get older the time stretches to 5 min of crying, then 10 min of crying, etc. and then the 3rd time they cry you feed them. i'm not sure how well it will work when they're older, i know in the books once they hit a certain age (i think it was like 3-4 months) they recommend just CIO all night which i'm not sure if thats what you're looking for. my lo started sttn at around 8 weeks with this method tho so i never got to that point. hopefully that was helpful. :-) let me know if you have specific questions tho

Is there a good online sleep training course? I know there is a momsoncall one, and it would be great if someone could recommend it. I REALLY should have read up on sleep before he was born but now there is no time, and I am totally confused by all that is out there.
