I asked the lactation consultant who runs my baby group about it and she said 3-5 times per day is perfect for this age. She said as long as you don't drop below 3, you're fine. Do you nurse at night? Are you nursing before offering solids? I wouldn't feel comfortable with the twins nutrition at that stage only nursing 3x per day. At a year we were nursing in the morning before work, they had 3 bottles while I was working, nurse when I got home, before bed, 10-11pm, and 2 times at night. She loved solids and ate well and was always a healthy weight so I never stressed. She did go from 85th percentile to 50th percentile at her 12 month checkup but I attributed that her being more active. She does eat a fair amount of solids and she's definitely gaining weight (three meals a day, plus the occasional snack), but this doesn't seem like enough breastmilk from a nutrition standpoint... she's still such a baby! </p> <p>What do you think--is this okay? If not, how on earth do you get a disinterested baby to nurse more? </p>
