@BabyPenguinXO: my DD was born at 36 weeks and needed to stay an extra two nights even though she didn't need NICU or anything particularly special. Late-preterm babies tend to be sleepy nursers and they wanted to make sure she was eating well and gaining weight. It was really helpful for me to have the extra time!

@MamaG: I was commenting to you when somehow I closed my thread! Lol!

My only trouble is that they have rotating doctors so the doctor who does my c section won't necessarily be my discharge doctor. So I can't really tell them in advance a ton. My care is with the maternal fetal medicine specialists and the regular OBs do most of the deliveries even for the MFMs primary patients. But I'll mention it at my next appt!

I'm delivering at 36 weeks due to severe cholestasis. So if baby isn't ready or if I'm not, I wont push it. But if we are both doing well then I definitely want to get home!

I went home after 2 nights. It was my drs call and I had no complications so she said sure!

I had responded previously. For my RCS, I had a two night stay. My OB would have let me stay longer if I wanted it. I had previously discussed with her that I wanted to get home quickly if possible.

Everything about my RCS was easier for me. I hope the same for you.

With my first (a scheduled c-section), I was home after 2 days. C-section was at 9:30am on Thursday and we were home around 2pm on Saturday.

I'm thinking of taking the full 3 days this time, though. My LO will be 20 months and although I'll have help, I'm kinda wanting to have the extra time at the hospital!

@BabyPenguinXO: I had dd2 on Tuesday morning and was discharged Thursday afternoon. We were home by 6!

DH slept at the hospital Tuesday night and at home on Wednesday so I sent DD2 to the nursery. (That made me realize that I haven't slept completely alone in seven years and was super weird and quiet)

Dd1 had orientation on Thursday morning then he took her out to lunch & shopping for school, so they didn't get to the hospital until after 2pm. It was much easier than I expected!

I had LO at 4 AM Thursday morning and was discharged 36 hours later. I was supposed to stay another night, but the hospital was full, DH couldn't stay with me, I was recovering very very well and I wanted to leave so they let me. It was under the condition that I take it very easy and that the public health nurse was able to visit me the next day.

Thanks ladies ! I'm delivering at 36w because of severe cholestasis of pregnancy. So if baby was not allowed to leave I won't push it! But if we are good I really wanna get home Sunday evening!!

@BabyPenguinXO: With my 1st I went home after about 24 hours - they needed my bed

With my 2nd I stayed 4 nights - I was kinda scared to go home and have 2 kids to take care of :silly: However, its doable if you need too!

One of my best friends had a RCS at 5pm on Monday and went home at noon on Wednesday. So assuming you don't have complications you should be able to do it.

I had my first on a Sunday night at 6pm and was discharged Tuesday at noon. Reason being, it was a small hospital and they needed the room for laboring moms. I was also healing really well.

I was home 29 hours after my daughter was born by RCS. I had a very easy recovery.
I was supposed to stay another night, but I had trouble with the nursing staff and just wanted to get out of there.
Looking back, if I had had a better nurse it would have been better to stay the second night.

I am having a repeat c section in 43 short days! It's at 8:30 in the morning on a Friday. I really want to be able to go home Sunday afternoon/evening... LO1 will be at home with my mom during my hospital stay. That's not a problem. Monday however, she leaves for a business trip. My fiancé can stay with our son, but I was hoping to have just my fiancé pick us up at the hospital to go home. Our son will only be 17 months old and it would just be easier to not sorry about him too.

Has anyone had luck going home 2 lights after? It would be over 48 hours later. Normally they keep you 3-4 nights at my hospital.
