I was so stunned the day I simultaneously got projectile peed and pooped on! Thankfully the poop thing was quite rare, and he has grown out of the peeing, mostly.

This is why I was so glad we got the changing pad that we could wipe down. We used Carters waterproof pads on the PNP changing station because of this, too.

LO did a lot when she was a newborn, but not so much anymore. A couple times it happened with poop - one time with so much force that poop sprayed across the room. We had to rent a rug shampooer to get it out of the carpet.

@autumnlove: They also have disposable changing pads you can put over the changing pad.

My LO used to always pee when the diaper came off! Every single time. But we always put the new diaper under the old one so you can quickly lift the legs and swap out the diapers without getting pee on the changing pad cover.

As an infant yes, but she grew out of that quickly. For a while I put doggie pads on top of the changing pad because it happened so frequently and that would save me the trouble of doing more laundry.

My LO has so many open air accidents during diaper changes. I'm constantly swapping the changing pad cover or the receiving blankets I line the pad with. Does your LO have a lot of open air accidents? :-)
