When my DD1 started K, she knew no one, and we learned at the open house that they were doing a combined K (2 teachers, 50 kids). I about lost it. But it turned out to be a great year. Big hugs to you all. My oldest knew nobody in K and there were tears at the start but at that age they all became friends so quickly (and changed again the next year anyway). And my middle started 1st last year after doing virtual K - he knew a few people by sight but basically starting new. Took him a while to make friends but still a very positive experience, just a transition to start (he did love his teacher right away). It’s a new school for him, and despite knowing a couple friends who were starting here as well, there’s no one he knows in his class. :/ Let’s just say our whole family was feeling a little less than excited after the event. Please tell me this is normal and that he will get more comfortable. :( It was a lot. </p>
