I sold my double bob just before my middle turned 3 (youngest was 5m).

He bikes (and my oldest!) or walks. We use our single bob every day! I don't miss having the double.

I'm in your same situatio: DD1 will be 3 when DD2 is born in Feb. we don't plan on getting a double stroller. I honestly dont Remember the last time DD wanted to get in the stroller. I think at this point we would only bring it to places like Disneyland.

We got one, but I am a runner and need to tote the kids with me on my runs when my husband travels. It's been nice to have. I'm extremely lucky because I didn't have to pay for it. Another mom in my running group was looking to trade her double for someone else's single and we just traded.

I didn't get one (we just did stroller with ride on board which was ok) but if you use a BOB a lot (ie, going far enough or uphill or whatever that your lo has trouble walking) I bet you'll want it. I think I'm going to at least get a side by side for lo2 and lo3 this time (about 27 months apart.)

My kids are 2.5 years apart. We waited until LO2 was about a year old before I caved and got a used double BOB. Until that point I used a single & Ergo. LO1 is 4.5 yo now and we still use it every weekend for long walks and hikes. Both kids hop in and out as they please. I suppose we'll stop using it within the next year and go back to our single. I wish I had gotten it sooner.

I would wait until the baby is here to decide. My kids are 2 years apart (baby is 3 months) and although we live in the city and it is nice (and a lot faster) to have the toddler strapped down when we walk to the playground / run errands I do wish I waited until the baby was here because I probably would have gotten by with the buggy board and single bob and then purchased a smaller double stroller when the baby was out of the infant car seat. Everyone told me to wait, but for some reason I was obsessed with getting one! I wish I listened :)

My LO turned three this spring. We very rarely used the stroller this summer as he really loves to walk. Like will walk from our house, around the park, and back home. It's at least two miles. I'm like @skipra: I wouldn't get one now unless you see a steal of a deal because kids change so fast.

Have you found an incredible deal on one? If not, wait and see and buy one later on if you need it. Kids and their preferences change so quickly that it would suck to invest in one and barely use it.

We got a double (kids are 2y10mo apart) bc my older kid likes riding in the stroller and we use the stroller a lot for walking longer distances to museums, restaurants, parks, etc. Our two closest neighbors have similar age gaps - one has the double BOB and one doesn't - and the neighbor without often ends up with both parents pushing separate strollers which seems like a giant pain to me!

We also got a double.

That being said, if she is the more independent type and walks more often then not (only uses it for long walks), our older DS has been able to sit in the front (the triangular part) of our bob with no problem in a pinch.

I got a double. My ds is now 3.5 and dd is 1 and we use it a lot. We walk a lot and they both ride.

We have a BOB and I love it. My daughter is 2.5. We only use it when I take her on my long walks/hikes. Our second daughter is due late February when DD will be 3. Probably won't be doing much walking until the spring. My question is: do you think we should invest in a double BOB for our walks? Or, will DD be too big to ride in there anyway? Opinions? Experience?
