She's probably getting so little from solids anyway at 6.5 months that it doesn't matter.

@LAZB: Our nights are the same! We get home, nurse at 5:30, followed by solids at 6:00/6:30, following by more nursing at 7:30. But with naps going to hell, we sometimes skip the solids because he falls asleep during that 5:30 nursing session. I'd rather he get the milk than solids though, so that's why we're keeping it like that for now. Mine is 8 months.

I'd be worried about dropping in supply at that point. If she was around 9 months, I'd say drop it since solids are getting really ramped up at that point but at 6.5 months, I wouldn't. I think it's too risky.

I wouldn't take out nursing personally. We did BLW and I nursed on demand and gave solids in between if she felt like it and followed her lead. Much less stressful that way! I don't know anything about purees though. Your Ped can probably give you good advice on that.

Sorry, left out that important information! She's 6.5 months. I know soon we will have her do solids once while I'm away and once at night, probably in a week or two.

How old is she? Id say if you really want to be the one to do solids, yeah take out a nursing session. Is she getting them during the day too?

Now that we are consistently feeding solids, I wanted to get some opinions on L's feeding schedule. I'm considering taking out a nursing session, but don't know if it would be ok.
L eats four times during the day, and I get home from work around 6:00-6:30. I have been nursing her as soon as I get home, feeding her solids around 7:30, giving her a bath, and then nursing her before bed around 8:30. So that's two nursing sessions and solids all within two hours.
Last night I didn't nurse her when I got home, just did solids, added in play time before bath time, and then nursed her before bed. It was a much more relaxing experience (she nurses for 30 min or so, so it takes up all of our time when I'm home!).
I know she should still get most calories from milk, so I hate taking out a session, but I'm hoping the two sessions will kind of be combined? My boobs definitely have less milk at those sessions, so I am hoping my supply doesn't drop.
