@bonny: I've been using OPK's for a few months now and each month I got the smiley face, until this month. I'm not sure if it was becuase I didn't start testing early enough in the cycle for the tester to get a baseline...or if I haven't O'd yet? FF put (dotted) crosshairs on my chart based on my temps so not sure what's up!

I would move up your start day to day 7.. and I would test twice a day. I always had no trouble getting a positive by testing once with my first morning urine, but lots of other people have said they didn't start seeing positives until they tested twice a day.

Are you using the two line OPKs or digital? I found the two line ones were difficult to read sometimes so I swapped to digital. Smiley face or no smiley face. I think your testing window is fine. Are you recently coming off BCP? It may be that you're body is regulating so it might not ovulate this cycle. If not, I'm not sure why you're not getting a positive reading. Sorry!

I would try testing before day 10, just in case.

What time of day are you using them? I wasn't getting + with my internet cheapies until I started using FMU. I know the tests say not to, but it worked for me - I was able to get pregnant 5 times using them this way :)

Are you charting too? I used Fertility Friend and found that temping was even more accurate. If you have a regular cycle, you should be able to see a pattern within a couple months.

How many times do you test a day? Do you test in the morning or night? Also, how long have you been off BC. You can have some long cycles when getting off BC. Lastly, do you know how long your cycles are?

I got those wondfo strips from Amazon and I didn't get my first positive OPK until the second month of OPK. I usually test when I get home from work between 6 to 9pm. I do remember getting a positive OPK when I tested around midnight. Hang in there.

This is our first month TTC. I've been charting and began testing with OPKs every day from day 10 - day 20, but I've gotten a negative result every day.

A few months ago, I had the day 3 hormonal test and all of my levels looked good.

So I'm not sure what to do. Is it possible that because I bought cheap OPKs, they're faulty and giving false negatives? Or should I be using the OPK every single day? My cycle is usually 27-30 days long so I thought I was being safe by testing on days 10 through 20.

I'm brand new at this. Any insight?
