@Mrs. Pinata: I think it's supposed to rise, but some people gradually rise, instead of a big jump.

Thank you! So, it sounds like it might be kind of common for BBT to not rise withing 48 hours of a positive OPK?

I ovulate regularly (that I know of), but this is my first month charting. My temp increased .2 for the 2 days following my O instead of having one big temp jump.

I did! Actually the month I got pregnant this happened. I can dig around for my chart ... give me a few minutes. I remember being so confused of when I ovulated and if I could finally stop BDing every day.

In the past when I've used OPKs and charted, I will get a positive OPK one day, O the next day, and have a significant temperature shift the next (which confirms ovulation to me). Usually my temp goes from about 97.6 to 98.2. It's been nice that it's been so clear in the past.

BUT, this month I got a positive OPK (smiley face) Saturday morning and then yesterday (Monday) morning my temp still hadn't gone up. This morning my temp went up to 97.9, so I guess this month I'm going to have a slower rise?

Does anyone else that charts have this issue? Even after getting a positive OPK that it takes a few days for your temp to go up?

(And yes, we are still very infertile and are waiting to adopt, but we were considering an IUI this month, and wanted to pinpoint ovulation, albeit not very successfully apparently.)
