I used the clearblue sticks, not the smiley ones though. I just used them in the urine stream, capped the stick, laid it on toilet paper in case it leaked, on top of the toilet tissue dispenser in the stall and waited. The wait on these is only about three minutes. I carried the stick too and from the bathroom in my purse. These are more expensive about 15 bucks for 7 days worth. You can use your Flexible spending dollars for these.

We have some little cups in the kitchen. I would grab one of those and stick it in my pocket, along with the stick. I'd sit in the bathroom with my phone to entertain me while I waited. :)

We are starting in April and I have already thought about this. I go straight to the gym from work, so I don't get home till 630 or 700. Is that to late to test?

I tested twice a day….once with FMU and once at around 6pm when I got home from work. I wouldn't drink anything or go to the bathroom after 2pm and I'd just hold it until I got home. I had to do an OPK or 2 here at work and I'd pee into the little plastic thingy that the individual OPK comes wrapped in and then I'd wait in the handicapped stall for a result. I felt weird doing it but I never had any problems!

I tested first thing in the AM, and when I started to see a faint positive the, tested when I got home from work - so around 6 am and 6 pm. I was able to catch my surges that way pretty easily.

I only work out of the home 3x a week so that makes it easier for me, but on the days that I do work I test when I get home around 5:45/6.

@eiko2010: I did exactly that - peed in a cup and waited 5 minutes in the stall (handicapped stall) for the results! It felt creepy, but I did it : ) I had a short LH surge so tested morning, afternoon between 2-4 and then again between 6-10. I used the digitals in the morning and then the strip ones in the p.m.

I just tested when I got home around 6. Sometimes I wouldn't test until 9 pm b/c I my urine wouldn't be very concentrated when I first got home. I drink a lot water during the day. Also, I used the digital test to confirm the LH surge b/c those lines are confusing to decipher.

When I tested at work, I did my best to pee midstream and then wrapped it in tissues and put it in my purse. I mostly tested the minute I got home from work, though.

I checked when I got home from work, which was between 6-8pm. I actually got my first positive OPK when it was midnight. I just try to test when my urine is the most concentrated which is afternoon or when I get home. I usually forget to bring tests when I pee at work. I just don't think about it when I'm at work.

As for the 5 min wait, it usually doesn't take that long to get a result. I usually just wait about 2-3 minutes.

I usually took them twice a day when it was critical I pinpoint O for fertility treatments. At work, I'd just take them at lunchtime, so it wasn't a big deal if I had to sit in the bathroom for a few. Or I'd just kind of slide it back in to the packaging and try to keep it level in my purse, and just check it on the sly a little later. But no lie, it is awkward, and carrying the opks and dixie cups in my purse felt kind of ridiculous.

But I'd also take one when I got home from work or around dinnertime, and those were usually my clearest positives anyway. So I'd say if you're only going to test once per day, after work would be totally fine.

I just got my big pack of 40 opk strips from amazon. The directions say to test once a day, but not fmu. A lot of what I've read actually recommends testing twice a day. These are the strips that you dip in a cup of urine and then wait to read for 5 minutes. How am I supposed to do this at work? Sit in the bathroom for 5 minutes waiting for it to give me a result? What did other working ttc ladies do?
