Thanks everyone! Right now we're just trying to do it as naturally as possible, both to save money and since our only issue is male factor. Clomid trashed my luteal phase and the RE doesn't think femara would make a difference. We're just so close to the end of our rope at this point. Because our chances are so low either way with male factor we don't want to spend all our money on IUIs when we will need to likely be spending money on domestic or embryo adoption. Plus, our current RE doesn't often do monitoring, but sticks to the OPKs and we don't want to push. (Yes, he's totally old school, but for now it's our only option.)

@Mrs. Pinata: Have you tried different drugs? Clomid vs. Femara, for example?

@Mrs. Pinata: Can they monitor your O with bloods - so that even if a stick is showing your surge, they'd have a good idea of what your ACTUAL levels are, to help plan for the procedure?

Frustrating though, I'm sending you lots of patience and good vibes.

@Mrs. Pinata: The trigger shouldn't be like the other drugs, it's essentially a big dose of the pregnancy hormone. You might feel like you're pregnant from it, but that should be it I think.

@ShootingStar: Hmm....right now we're at an OB clinic that also has an RE. I really prefer to do IUIs without drugs at this point, because I've had horrible reactions to adding in drugs before. The (ONE local) fertility clinic charges over twice as much and we didn't have a great experience there. And I don't know where else to go.

Thanks for your thoughts. I hope next month there's better timing. It's very frustrating for so much to be out of one's control. :/

Can you find another clinic? Mine is open pretty much every since day. In absence of that I would think you should use a trigger shot so you can have better timing. Plus I think there's too many variables with OPKs, even the digital ones.

So... after taking the summer off to get healthy and see another Dr., we are back to trying iuis. However, last month we were on a trip when I O'd and then this month I got my smiley face surge on Saturday super early morning. So... we were out again this month since our clinic doesn't do IUIs on the weekend. Blergh.

In the past, when I get a LH surge I assume I ovulate the following day because 2 days after the surge my BBT usually goes up significantly. So, I got my surge on Saturday, assumed ovulation yesterday and today my temperature is still low. :/

What is your experience? Is this normal? Maybe we SHOULD have still done the IUI today, but more than 48 hours after surge really doesn't make sense. Does it sometimes take an extra day after ovulation to get an elevated BBT?

Also, I'm already worried that next month I will o on the weekend again and never get to do the IUIs. Ahh!!!! SO annoying there's just ONE day too try this stuff each month. :/
