We've skipped the orajel. When the fussiness is really high, we medicate with tylenol or ibuprofen at our peditrician's recommendation. Fortunately, she's been pretty good. Her one year molars were partially through before we even realized.

Our ped recommended against it. Anyway it only wOrks for like one min. I've used the adult version many times for canker sores. I would skip it.

I tried baby orajel on myself a long time ago... I put a tiny amount and it was super strong on me! It was very uncomfortable and I can only imagine how strong it is on babies, so we don't use it... I also read that if a baby ingests it, it can numb their throat, which is scary! We give teethers and soft cold fruit to help with teething. I know it's tough when they teethe, but just remember it's a phase that will pass. In my experience, the first few teeth they pop out are the toughest. Hang in there!

We've never used anything either. I would try to avoid it but see what your doc says.

We never used anything on Lo's gums for teething. Thankfully she's been a great teether.

I was recently reading up on teething and I read that in recent years they've stopped recommending using Orajel on babies. I'd ask your doctor first.

They make baby orajel. There's also Little teethers. We try not to use them unless nothing else works. DS's pediatrician said it's okay, but I've heard of some bad reactions. There have been times though, where we exhaust all other options but as soon as we put a little gel on his gums, he stops screaming. Orajel makes some all natural tablets. Those are great! We usually dissolve them in some water and use a syringe to give the mixture to LO.

I've heard bad things about Orajel in general. We use Humphries and cold teethers.

Did you use Orajel on your LO before they turned 2? LO is getting a top tooth and it bothers her a lot and ice rings and Sophie don't seem to relieve her.

The Orajel package says it is for use for children 2 years and older or consult a physician! I'll call her tomorrow!!!
