We have a Boba and it's nice (it was especially nice when he was little and we didn't need an insert) but we can't do front-facing. I'm generally not a fan of front-face for his posture and mine, but he really doesn't seem to like facing inwards and I wonder if he'd like front face more. I have a super cheap carrier that worked ok when she was a baby, but doesn't work for more than 10-15 min now. Same with the Moby. Do you think the Ergo would be any different?? My LO is already 17.5 lbs... how big is your LO? Does it distribute the weight well?
