How do you keep outdoor toys organized?

We currently have all their stuff thrown in the back of our garage or on a shelf, or in the back shed (winter storage), it's a hot mess and the chalk/sprinkler/bubbles etc is all mixed in with adult outdoor items and it drives me crazy. I want to the girls to be able to access everything easier. I was thinking one of those outdoor storage bins but not sure if that would be a pain as opposed to a shelf of some sort.
