I use Lightroom to import to my computer which creates folders by date the photo was taken. I tag photos with the people in them and then I print/make books with the best ones.

I only take pics with my iPhone so I just backup my pictures onto my laptop periodically. It automatically date stamps the current date and I leave it as is. At the end of the year, I do a family photo yearbook via MyPublisher. For that, I just start back into the first folder of backed up pictures and go forward until I reach year end. At the end of the year, I move all those lil folders into a year folder labeled 201x.

Probably terrible organizing factor. I only have 1 kid though, but since the pictures are in chronological order, it works come yearbook making time.

I use iPhoto to organize everything and make mypublisher photo books every year. I also print some pictures but really limit to the best 100 to 200, I don't feel like I have to print every picture on my phone, there are just too many and most of those aren't great.

I went with flickr, which a friend suggested. I did 4 books her first year and now that she's 2, i'll work on a year 1 - year 2 book while i'm on maternity leave. I really like Blurb books.

I have a folder for each year, then in that folder a folder for each month. All iphone and real camera photos are in one folder. We have them stored in three places: external hard drive, Shutterfly, and Dropbox.

I keep it very simple, I do a yearly hard copy photo album, not specific ones for events or children (I only have one child, though). In order to facilitate this, all the pictures taken in one year are in a digital file folder.

I think if I had two children, I'd want them each to have a copy of the yearly album, so I'd do it as a photobook so it can be reprinted instead of the current hard copy of photos and inserted into an album.

Ugh.... I hate dealing with this for sure.

For LO1 - I did monthly photo folders on a computer and then also loaded them into quarterly photos on a site (shutter fly).

For LO2 - Shutterfly app stopped working for me, so I started using the amazon prime cloud for back ups. But I also want some to print so need to copy and paste to shutter fly and also want some saved with LO1 photos so I would like to save some locally too.

Not the best plan but at least I kinda know where they all are.

How do you keep photos of your LO organized? Do you keep them on the computer in folders? Dump them all into one? Keep them on a site? How often do you print them?

I haven't printed photos of my LO's in 12 months so now I'm overwhelmed at where to start and how to keep them organized from here on out. They are currently on a site and ready to print but on my computer they are all just in one folder. I'm hoping to get some physical photo albums for Mother's Day so I can start printing and organizing...what a task.

Share your tips with me!
