I also use big clear bins. My only advice is be picky as you store. If you didn't love it with the 1st kid, you won't with the 2nd either. Just keep the items you really liked.

We use 2 gallon zip lock bags or old diaper boxes and label by size and season.

I label 2 gallon bags so I can store them easier. I have a bin for things she grew out of.... I sort by returning items I was loaned, sell, and keep (girl clothes I really like and all gender neutral).

Bins by size/season. I keep a box in the older one's closet to immediately stick stuff that doesn't fit anymore. Other random stuff (dress clothes, coats, etc) I just hang in the little ones closet.

Congrats on girl #2!

I store all of my DS's old clothing in a big tub (right now it's newborn to 9 months since he grows very slowly). His current pants, shorts, socks, underwear, and pjs are in his dresser. Shirts are hung on the left side of his closest, and clothing that he'll wear in the future are on the right side.

I keep stuff in bins by size. The stuff that fits now is in his dresser. The next size up bin is in the closet for easy access as he outgrow things. I also keep a bin in the closet to put the clothes he outgrows in. Once he goes up a size the smaller bin goes into the basement and the bigger one comes up.

Now that we know baby 2 is also a girl(!) I'm trying to be more strategic with how I organize the clothes she is outgrowing, since I know we will actually get a chance to reuse most of them. Storage space is really limited and not easy to access. Any times for making it easier on my future self?

I've decided to keep shoes separate and more easy to access since the new baby may not fit into them at the same time/ age as C. Other tips like that?

Also- storing away outgrown clothes is so much easier knowing I get to use them again!
