We've probably only spent about $50 on NEW clothes. And we are set for his whole first year, and even have a good amount up to 24 mos. So for now, clothes isn't a big expense.</p> <p>But I would say gear for now - rocking chair, crib, mattress, mattress topper, cosleeper, carseat etc. We bought all the above out of pocket.</p> <p>We did pay quite a bit for his diaper stash ($700+) because the first system we bought didn't work. I haven't been able to resell them yet.</p> <p>I'm sure it will eventually be food! There is a big investment in gear in the beginning but then you don't have to buy very much once your child is older. I feel like I barely spend anything on diapers.
