@cvbee: I know! Oh, we also used a new bottle so I am wondering if that could've made a difference. We are using the Medela one that came with the pump. We were using the el cheapo, Gerber First Essentials.

@cvbee: Well, he fell asleep shortly after I posted that. He was pretty fussy so I cuddled with him until he was asleep. He just ate (formula). He didn't spit up these last 2 feeds so maybe that shows some promise. All sounds quiet in his bassinet atm, so perhaps he is sleeping? If thats the case, then I am going to squeeze a pumping session in! Thanks for the link and thanks for checking in!

@cvbee: He's not sleeping again. I'm going to call the Dr in the am, and I am also going to tweak my diet a bit to see if that makes a difference.

Happens to everyone... and no it's not permanent but it will happen throughout the LO life. (Mavrick was up 5x at 18 months old) Either growth spurts or sleep regressions. 2 terms I HATE!!!

@marriedandlovingit: My MIL swore that LO didn't have reflux and she was just fussy. But I knew it had to be more than just fussy, she would cry for hours and nothing I did would stop her. Even after I went to the doctor and she was diagnosed she didn't believe me. I think back in their time they didn't know as much as they do now, so they couldn't diagnose and treat what they can now.

@artbee: Yes, it is the first time he has done this. You do bring up a good point, bc he spits up A LOT. My mom swears that it is normal. I will be asking about it at his 1 month next week.

Is this the first time that happened? My LO had lots of times when she was very hard to soothe, and it ended up being reflux. Just something to think about or maybe ask the doctor about if it keeps up. Good luck!

We had a terrible night where LO literally woke every 40 minutes! I'm still not sure if it was due to a growth spurt or because she was over tired...

It gets better!!

@marriedandlovingit: Last weekend when Nico was doing the cluster feeding thing (which lasted for a whole week!) I did a lot of side-laying breastfeeding and what I call 'accidental co-sleeping'. Have you tried introducing a soother? I waited til 4 weeks for the soother, but I have seen some sites say you can start at 3 weeks without interfering with breastfeeding. But of course, if all that feeding is really because of being hungry, the soother won't work. Good luck!

totally normal... won't be the last... and you can do it!! You've already made it through one nightmare night. Do whatever it takes to recover from it (and try to reward yourself... this is the toughest job in the world!) and then you can work on getting everyone back on track!

Our son did not sleep last night! Prior to this, he was sleeping 4 hour stretches at night. I spent all night cluster feeding him and he was in tears when the boob or bottle wasn't in his mouth.

My husband and I were both up trying to soothe him. Finally around 5'ish, he fell asleep until 9. I was so frustrated and felt inadequate as a mommy bc I was unable to soothe him. My friend said it is most likely a growth spurt (he's 3 wks old in case that matters). He took a VERY restless nap after his 9am feeding, and he is sleeping again (was restless but has calmed down since...hoping I am not jinxing myself).

Please tell me that this is all normal, and if you all have tips then feel free to pass them my way!
