I was thinking about getting a few fire fighter costumes, as well, maybe 3 would be enough for 7-8 kids (taking turns obviously). I asked daycare when I found out firefighters were coming and the firefighters came with a packet to send them home with. Tips to teach your preschoolers what to do in the event of a fire at home. I suggest that because when local firefighters came to dd daycare for a community helper day, one of the things they did was to teach the kids to get low on the ground and army crawl. It's a pretty big space with a concrete/stone floor, a few tables, and a lot of lounge chairs. I am trying to think of activities I can set up for 7-8 kids to keep them occupied for an hour and a half or so. It will be fire truck/fire fighter themed. Right now, my only idea is to get large plastic bins and fill them with sand and bring up some of our construction vehicles for digging (not fire themed but I feel like would be fun?). Any other ideas? </p>
