darn, i was ready for an answer until you said no double swaddles. i actually kept her legs out of the swaddle because her strong kicks undid the swaddle, and just wrapped her arms/chest. Then i used an a+a blanket to swaddle over it. Not sure if that counts as a double swaddle!

I just bought a Woombie and so far LO seems to like it okay. They make different sizes so that might work for you. It's light weight as he gets super hot and it still allows him to move his hands inside which he likes.

I just switched my son to a halo swaddle sack for this reason....he busts out of a single swaddle really fast, mostly because of his height/legs, but overheats in a double.

LMW is 9 weeks and definitely needs a strong swaddle since she's so big and strong. Even as a newborn she got out of the velcro swaddle in less than 60 seconds. The miracle blanket works great but she's getting too big and long for it. This wasn't a problem with Wagon jr. since he was always a short baby.

Any suggestions on what to use instead of the miracle blanket? No double swaddles for us, either... we are a warm people! She gets sweaty even in just the miracle blanket.
