I had a cyst on one ovary when I was pregnant, turns out it happens pretty frequently. I had a friend who developed one later in her pregnancy and ended up on strict bedrest for a month, but it went away and she was okay, incredibly painful though.

@marriedandlovingit: same here, though I don't know how large it was. Doc wasn't concerned, so neither was I!

I had a huge cyst on my right ovary all through the first trimester. The Dr said it is common and would likely go away. It slowly shrunk down in size and went away during the second trimester.

Not sure type of cyst, she said that is full of fluid and she is not concerned about cancer. I have been told no exercising, jumping or sudden movements as that could cause it to twist.

I had a coworker who had this happen (same doctor and everything) however they didn't discover hers until 20 weeks and had to do immediate surgery. I'm freaking out knowing her story.

Actually my sister had a cyst while pregnant with my niece (and didn't know it until it burst) even though she had abdominal pain, everything was find with her pregnancy and my niece was a healthy baby. Hope this is not scaring you, just that cysts and pregnancy is more common that we think.

Did they tell you what kind of cyst it is? I've had a dermoid cyst (they're non cancerous, just made up of fat and tissue) for about 5 years now. Mine is smaller (4-5 cm), but at 30 weeks it hasn't caused me any problems so far. With that kind of cyst it is possible that it can cause your ovary to twist which would would require surgery to remove the cyst and ovary, but that is very rare and pregnancy doesn't increase the chances of it twisting. Hope that helps!

I don't have experience with it myself but I was watching a show called "one born every minute," and there was a woman on there who had a cyst. Her cyst was apparently very large and it was noticeable because her belly was not round and much, much bigger on one side. The doctors were worried about it, but luckily, she was able to have the baby vaginally and it was all ok.

Haven't dealt with that myself- but just wanted to say that I hope it all goes ok and there's no need for surgery! Sending you positive thoughts and wishing you a healthy, easy, and surgeryless pregnancy!

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 9 week appointment & they thought it was possible I was further along than they originally thought when examining me & wanted me to have an ultrasound.

During the ultrasound it turns out that the reason I was feeling larger to the doctor was due to a softball size cyst on my right ovary.

Right now it is not causing complications with the baby (the little bean was great, moving it's arms and legs and had a heartbeat of 173.) but it's possible I could have surgery in the next month or two if the cyst twist around my ovary or does not shrink down. Surgery is the last thing they want to do because of the exposure to anesthesia.

Anyone else have anything similar to give me peace of mind?
