I take 12.5mg of Unisom when my sleep get's really crazy. Works great! I'm still a little groggy when I wake up, but I seem to be particularly sensitive to medicines that cause drowsiness.

I take Unisom every once in awhile and it works great, no "hungover" feeling when you wake up! And it's specifically a sleep aid, doesn't have any pain reliever/unnecessary medication like some of the others.

Before pregnancy, I used Tylenol PM to help me fall asleep but really only on airplanes. I took 1 pill, and would usually knock out within 30 minutes.

Never tried sleeping pills, but I'd definitely do something to help get you to sleep.

unisom is great and safe. take half a tab to start because even that much can knock you out. i used to take ambien once in awhile when my insomnia got really bad. that stuff is strong!

I've never tried a sleeping pill, but on the couple nights where I've had completely insomnia, I took one of those drowsy antihistamines and they knock me right out. Plus they're only effective for about 4 hours, so they wear off before I wake up and I'm not groggy in the morning.

Not sure if taking an antihistamine when you don't need one is bad or not though...

I've never tried any but why not try a warm bath and some chamomile tea as a natural alternative? That usually helps me

I've used Tylenol sleep. It worked great but I was still a little groggy in the morning. I'm debating on starting to take them again because I'm also having trouble sleeping again.

Has anyone used any OTC sleeping pills? Do they knock you out completely?

I'm having a really hard time sleeping these days - my mind is so active even though my body is exhausted and I just can't sleep. And with LO waking up at 6am, I'm starting to go crazy.
