Ugh that sucks! My rule is I try for an hour and then I get him up and try again in another hour. Or if he gets just so intolerably fussy I can't stand it, I'll try sooner. He usually goes down that second time.

ETA if this was a regular thing I would definitely give up sooner than an hour, but it's pretty infrequent lately that it takes him any longer than 15 minutes to fall asleep.

That is the worst! There comes a point when yes, we do whatever it takes to get her to get some sleep (swing, stroller, baby wear, or car ride as a last resort). Once in a hotel room I had to put her in the dark bathroom next to the running tub faucet in her car seat to finally have her get some sleep.

oh my gosh! no idea what I did to cause this but LO woke up at 6AM and would not go back to sleep anywhere [crib, arms, rock n play, etc] for 6 HOURS! this is the longest I remember him being awake. none of the usual things worked and he definitely had a clean diaper and full belly and seemingly little gas (vs. usual!)

I don't know what happened but it was like it just kept snowballing as he got more tired and cranky! What do you do in these situations? Just whatever works? haha, he finallllly did fall asleep listening to lullabys in the RNP and now I'm tiptoe-ing around the house and hissing at the dog when he is too loud. please let it last!
