I am a BM in a wedding we have to fly to and there is really no other solution unless I go to the wedding alone. We had a wedding to go to and it was easier for us to drop DS off at my parents in the suburbs and stay all night than for them to come to us in the city and head home around midnight. His cousins had a sleepover at their grandpa's house and he was sad he didn't get to go (no one thought he'd want to) so the next weekend he decided he was going to. He loved it! So now he stays over at his grandpa's every now and then. We went out with friends to watch a football game &amp; MIL wanted us to sleep in. We were there to get her by 7 am :) It was about 12 hours total. We had a wedding to go to and my parents kept her (Saturday late afternoon to Sunday morning). </p> <p>I'm very thankful we have family close by that we trust completely. It was rough but a much needed experience. A few months later we left him with my sister for a week, and he was better prepared and well behaved.
