@Maysprout: yes I wa definitely pumping too much before! I just suffered through 48 hours of engorgement by not pumping at all and only feeding one side per session )for up to 6 hours) and things seem to e getting better. While I don't mind having extra milk, it had created a problem for DS (choking, coughing, gas, hiccups, seems to be getting too much foremilk).

If you've been pumping a lot to get a freezer stash you might be making a bit more than you need. Do you pump with each feeding? Maybe try just slowly backing down how much you pump.
When I was a bit too full I'd let baby suckle for a couple seconds then hold a cloth to my chest to catch the forceful milk then relatch her.

Do you/did you have one? Did you try to tame it?

I've been fine with having *extra* milk until lately when LO began having trouble with my fast let down - lots of choking etc. Also he has been feeding VERY frequently leading me to believe he's not getting enough hindmilk. I'm trying to tame it a little right now but wondering if I will regret it later - LO is 1 month - I have a freezer stash and will be going back to work in 3 months and would like him to get breastmilk for at least 6 mos.
