DS would choke, cough, pull off, &amp; slide down so he was just sucking on the nipple to slow the flow. I block feed, switching every 6 hours (and pumping off an ounce or so when I switched sides to help with the initial let down after not using that side for so long). I also, luckily, didnt have problems with feeling uncomfortable from engorgement. </p> <p>After 4 days of that I noticed he would get fussy around the last feeding on each boob because the flow was too slow for him. Now I just feed him on one side &amp; switch sides each feeding. I tried offering both sides at a feeding, but he just ends up having huge spit-ups.</p> <p>Also, he eats every hour during wakeful times. However, he only eats for 5-10 min &amp; he's done. The only thing that eventually corrected it was going on the mini pill for birth control. It took me a long time to try this because I was so convinced that the extra feedings would increase my supply even more and maybe also make my baby over-fed, but it actually eased things for everyone. </p> <p>You can also nurse in a reclined-position (uphill), and also just know that one day baby will get good at chugging. Does anyone have experience with this? I've heard block feeding can help. How did you correct an oversupply, and how long did it take? </p>
