Thanks all!
@Mrs. Pajamas: I've been pumping 1 session at night when DH gives LO a bottle and then pumping in the morning after feeding LO if I still feel full. I plan to do what you're suggesting and only pump to take the edge off to resolve the oversupply issue. I've been offering each side for 15 minutes or so - if he's very content with one side, I keep him there but if he seems to be not interested/sleepy I've been switching. I'll do the block feeding instead and hopefully he will be feeling better soon.

@Pollywog: Thanks! If the oversupply issue resolves and he still has that green frothy poop and fussiness I may ask you to share your experience. Crossing fingers it is not a food allergy but should find out in the next few weeks.

LO also has a rash on his head - I thought it was acne but maybe it's related to this.

Agree with the others that it's fine if it's actually from oversupply because it's probably mixed enough.

However, our case was like @Pollywog and what I originally thought was oversupply ended up being MSPI so I had to throw out our stash anyway. :( But try block feeding first before cutting out dairy, just in case it actually is oversupply.

You don't need to throw away the milk. It's fine if it is oversupply. The combined output is great. Just mix the bag if you are splitting it into two bottles.

One work of caution-- it's supposedly rare to have green milk from an oversupply. If it still keeps up, it may be an allergy. LO had green poop, I went to block feeding and it got better, then it got worse. Turns out, he's allergic to dairy and eggs. Now I have to throw away my milk. :-/

If you're curious what an allergy poop looks like, I can share.

From my experience if you want to regulate your supply don't pump til empty just to "take the edge off". If you pump until empty that will signal your breasts to keep over-producing. Switching to one breast only per feed worked for me to reduce the green poop and then after a week or two I was able to go back to both breasts in one feed. Ideally you would feed on one side and make it to the next feeding without pumping. Is that what you are doing?

My guess would be that the pumps milk would be fine! Especially if you pumped till empty.

So I think my LO is suffering from an oversupply issue I have. I think I started pumping too early. He has had a lot of green frothy poop and fussiness after feedings. Some spit up - not a lot. He has been gaining weight though.
I plan to offer only 1 breast and not 2 at feedings to try to resolve the oversupply issue but was wondering if anyone knows if I need to throw out my pumped milk stash or not. I've been pumping once or twice a day until my breasts are empty so I am thinking the pumped milk should have a balance of foremilk and hindmilk but I am not sure.
Does anyone have experience with this?
