@mrskansas: Eh my general crampy bloaty discomfort started about an hour before the IUI and due to IUI protocol we had last had sex on Sunday for a Tuesday afternoon IUI.

@snarkybiochemist: I am on almost exactly the same schedule you were. I'll just start the progesterone and Lovenox tonight.
This was definitely ovulation pain though. I have only felt it once before and this time it was unmistakable.

Now I'm just worried because we only had sex once before I ovulated and like 30 minutes after! Ugh.

@mrskansas: I typically felt a strong sharp pain on my dominate follicle side 30-36 hours after my trigger. I suppose if your body was gearing up naturally then the trigger would just accelerate it. My doctor always gave me a date to start progesterone, this past cycle I triggered Monday at 8am, had the IUI Tuesday at 1pm and started the progesterone Thursday night. I felt bloated and uncomfortable but didn't have a definitive sharp ovulation pain this time just kind of all over cramping and discomfort.

@bhbee: Yeah I was thinking that the Ovidrel would probably just speed things along a bit. And you're right, I know for a fact I would have already ovulated so starting the progesterone & Lovenox isn't going to hurt anything.
Thanks girl!

I think it's totally possible. Opk is supposed to be 12-36 hours from ovulation and it's not like the ovidrel slows it down. That said I don't think one day at that time is going to matter for the other drugs. I'd probably err sooner than later if it were me I suppose. Good luck!!!

Coming back to this because I have another question relating to this....
Monday I had a mature follicle ready to go. After my follicle scan I went home and took an OPK which came back positive (this was around 5 PM). I triggered with Ovidrel 250 at midnight.

Tuesday around 2 PM I had what I'm pretty sure was ovulation cramping on my dominant follicle side. After about an hour of cramping all my bloat and discomfort that I'd had for days subsided.

My question is, how likely is it that I ovulated around 24 hours after the start of my natural surge and only 12 hours after Ovidrel? Maybe the two combined sped up my ovulation?

My RE wants me to start progesterone & Lovenox 3 days after ovulation so I'm trying to figure out when that is.

Yes, take it exactly when they told you to. It's been awhile since I used OPK but if I remember correctly it detects a surge which gives you a 36hr window of when you will ovulate. It doesn't detect actual ovulation. The trigger shot is timed perfect because it will force you to ovulate in the next 36ish hours. It sounds like everything is right on schedule.

I'm supposed to trigger with an Ovidrel shot tonight but I just took an OPK and it was positive.
I can't get in touch with my doctor until the morning so I think I'll go ahead and trigger, but does anyone have experience with this? Is it OK to take the shot?
